About this Event
Join AIER’s Bastiat Society program in Houston for an event with Dr. E. Andrew Boyd.
In 1978 Alfred E. Kahn, head of the now defunct Civil Aeronautics Board, helped set in motion perhaps the single most significant event in commercial aviation history: deregulation. The fascinating ways in which airlines responded demonstrate how their newfound competition led to improved efficiencies and lower ticket prices. In this talk Dr. Boyd will discuss specific trends and examples of what occurred, ultimately focusing on how airlines upended the world of pricing.
Drinks and finger foods will be served. Parking is available in the lot next door at the Kido Preschool & Daycare.
This event is open to the public.
