City Winery St. Louis presents "A Woman's Word" National Poetry Month Tour with The Floacist of Floetry & Queen Sheba, Hosted By Lightning with special guests Shea Brown & She Da Truth live on April 21st at 7:30pm!
A WOMAN’S WORDS is more than a show—it is a movement, a moment, and a memory in the making. This National Poetry Month Tour brings together the legendary Natalie “The Floacist” Stewart, the poetic force behind the globally celebrated duo Floetry, and Queen Sheba, a two-time Grammy-nominated Spoken Word-Poet whose raw storytelling and undeniable stage presence have captivated audiences worldwide. Step into the realm of lyrical brilliance as two of the most powerful voices in Spoken Word and music unite for an unforgettable experience.
Prepare for a night of soul-stirring poetry, mesmerizing melodies, and the electrifying energy of two artists who have mastered the art of commanding a stage. With a live DJ, a dynamic host, and two hand-selected, powerhouse poets from each city setting the mood, the stage is primed for an evening of artistry at its peak.
This is not just a performance—it is history in the making. We are taping for a live album, capturing the magic of this tour as it unfolds. Leave anything weighing you down at the door and get ready for the best memories of your life.
About The Floacist: Grammy-Winning, eight-time Grammy-nominated Natalie “The Floacist” Stewart is a Poet, MC, songwriter, and one of the most impactful Black British artists of our time. As a founding member of Floetry, she pioneered the concept of Floetic Delivery with Musical Intent, crafting timeless albums (Floetic, Floacism, Flo’Ology) before soaring into a solo career with critically acclaimed releases (Floetic Soul, Floetry RE:Birth, Rise of the Phoenix Mermaid). Having collaborated with legends like Michael Jackson, Earth Wind & Fire, and Prince, The Floacist continues to shape and elevate the global Spoken Word and music scene.
A true innovator, The Floacist seamlessly blends poetry, Hip-Hop, and R&B, creating a signature sound that has left an indelible mark on the industry. She has toured extensively, mesmerizing audiences with her unique lyrical flow and commanding stage presence. Beyond music, she is a dedicated mentor and advocate for artistic growth, using her platform to inspire and uplift the next generation of poets and musicians.
She is also the visionary behind FLO Vortex, a groundbreaking spoken word event BI-WEEKLY IN LONDON that celebrates the depth and power of poetry. Whether in the studio, on stage, or behind the scenes, The Floacist’s artistry continues to push boundaries, making her one of the most revered figures in contemporary spoken word and music.
About Queen Sheba: A two-time Grammy-Nominated Spoken Word-Poet, Two-Time NAACP Image Award Nominee, Patreon & Furious Flower Grant recipient, 10 albums international recording artist, and a book of poems with one in the tank, Queen Sheba is a force to be reckoned with. With over two decades of experience captivating audiences across 11 countries, her albums include collaborations with Grammy Award-Winning Artists Robert Glasper and Malcolm-Jamal Warner, with Grammy Nominated Producers Linia White, Clayco & D Botz to name a few. Sheba ironically has opened for Floetry on several occasions—now an international recording artist in her own right—she takes the stage alongside The Floacist to deliver an unmissable experience during National Poetry Month.
Queen Sheba is known for her Atlanta-infused Spoken Word style, fearless storytelling, and electric stage presence - not to mention her undeniable wardrobe and business savvy. A trailblazer in the Spoken Word-Poetry world; as a Creative Writing & English Professor Queen Sheba bridges the literary & performance cultural gaps through art, healing, and community engagement. As a philanthropist and the creator & founder of Poetry vs. Hip-Hop®, she has curated a movement and given away hundreds of thousands of dollars, in self-created scholarships and the PvHH Enterprising Award, in the past decade, in over 30 cities. Queen Sheba lives the motto, sometimes to her detriment, “Committee is the Key” by tirelessly sharing her platform, and industry knowledge via her membership-based writing & artist development virtual program. Her company PvHH houses many productions and collaborations that connect humans that otherwise wouldn’t know each other, in a fun-safe, dynamic lyrical show-down or show-case, depending on which performance you are coming to see!
Join us for a night where words move like music and poetry transforms into power. Secure your tickets now—this is a once-in-a-lifetime event!
