Join us for an extraordinary evening of music, poetry and inspiration. A New World of Peace is not just a concert — it is a sacred journey, an ethereal tapestry woven from the music and writings of Indian spiritual teacher and visionary Sri Chinmoy, arranged and conducted by Sahadeva Torpy.

What Will the Evening Include?
Creative Visualisation part:
A meditative part, which will include a sound therapy session accompanied by musical instruments and intertwined with recitations from Sri Chinmoy's writings. You will get a sense of deep unity, harmony, and connection from ancient wisdom to peace and oneness in the present. And from that feeling of Oneness, one can certainly feel a lasting feeling of Joy and Happiness. Throughout the evening, the chanting of ancient mantras will weave through the entire experience.
Poetry and Music themes will explore:
Mother Earth, Peace Inner and Outer, Oneness and Inner Silence.
The performance:
The musical arrangements and the performance by a large international choir will bring you on a sacred journey arranged and conducted by Sahadeva Torpy. Musicians from over 20 different countries. The haunting sounds of tabla, sitar, strings and woodwinds.

We look forward to welcoming you to the beautiful NUY Skirball Centre, where the space will resonate with the timeless vibrations of ancient mantras.
NYU Skirball Center is conveniently located at the corner of LaGuardia Place and Washington Square South at the base of NYU’s Kimmel Center for University Life. It is one of New York City’s major presenters of international work, and has been the premier venue for cultural and performing arts events in lower Manhattan since 2003. The 800-seat theater.
