Unleash Your Creativity with Linoleum Printmaking!
Dive into the timeless art of Linoleum Printmaking —also known as Linocut —and craft something truly unique! This exciting technique involves carving designs into a linoleum block using sharp tools like knives, V-shaped chisels, or gouges. The uncarved areas form a mirror image of your design, which comes to life once inked and pressed onto paper. Think greeting cards, stationery, wall art , or even your own custom stamps—the possibilities are endless!
In this fun, hands-on class, you’ll learn a new skill and take home not only your beautiful printed creations but also your custom-carved linoleum blocks to keep the creativity flowing!
Here’s What to Expect:
- Step 1: Watch & Learn Kick things off with a live demo of the tools, materials, and techniques needed to craft one-of-a-kind prints.
- Step 2: Design Your Masterpiece Choose from provided stencils or sketch your own design to bring your ideas to life! Once finalized, you’ll transfer your design sketch onto your linoleum block.
- Step 3: Practice Makes Perfect Before carving your main block, test your skills on a small tester block to get comfortable with the tools.
- Step 4: Carve Your Block Let the fun begin! Using your newfound skills, carve a 4″ x 6″ linoleum block, perfect for printing on a card!
- Step 5: Ink & Print Roll out the ink and start printing! We’ll provide shades of red, black, and white inks along with high-quality cards to keep with the Valentine's theme.
