About this Event
Join us for Greg Packman's ancient tree walk through Brockwell Park, looking at older trees, examining how trees live, grow and rejuvenate. And also look at the role trees have played through human civilisation.
The walk will begin at the park gates closest to Herne Hill station.
Trees are amongst the oldest living organisms to have ever lived - the oldest trees today are believed to be around 5000 years old!
How can trees live this long? Can trees be immortal?
Greg Packman is Senior Tree Inspector for the London Borough of Islington: covering Local Authority tree management and working with external clients such as Epping Forest, the Inner and Middle Temples, and Alexandra Palace. Greg also sits on the London Tree Officer's Association Executive Committee and co-chairs the Ancient Tree Forum London group as well as being part of the London Tree Partnership.
