Step back in time and experience the wonders of ancient copper metallurgy! In this immersive workshop, led by our resident experimental archaeologist and archaeometallurgist, Thérèse Kearns, you’ll learn how early civilisations transformed raw minerals into gleaming metal. From smelting copper from malachite to creating bronze alloys and casting your own metal object, you’ll be hands-on with the processes that shaped human history.
🌱 Day workshop with a break for lunch - 10am - 3pm
🔥 Use a clay furnace, charcoal, and leather bellows to smelt copper and cast a bronze object that you will take home
