💫 It all begins with turning the air you breathe into real-life healing magic.
✨🌬️✨ You are invited to experience the flute, the music of the wind. The way is inside. With essence of the instrument, you open your heart, expand your awareness, and create a new song for your life.
✨📜✨ You can make music a lot of different ways, but you can only create the special magic of turning the air you breathe into mindful music medicine, by using the oldest known instrument, the ancient sound of the flute.
✨🕊 This unique experience will begin with a gathering circle, guided flute meditation and blessing of the flute. You will learn how to use your breath to play with deep intention, to nurture, and improve your spiritual, healing, and playing practice. Learn history of ancient flute, anatomy and care of your flute, blessing of the flute for your personal self-care practice. You will open an intentional, mindful, creative and nature based practice with breath and creative self-expression - a journey into playing a lullaby for your soul. Resource materials will be provided to take home.
❤️ No musical background is necessary, an open heart is required. If you have musical background, this will be an entirely new approach to music, a deeply synergized practice, focusing on entrainment, not entertainment, and freestyle playing. Improvisational playing accesses the non-judgmental, non-critical part of your brain to create musical joy and healing. You will learn to play by ear, with intuitive energy, with deeply elemental spiritual and nature elements, and embellishments infusing heart song into this experience.
🪶 This is a beginner play-shop to ancient flute, and you will be playing flute when you leave the first session. The flutes I will be playing are Native American inspired flutes, but any wooden flute is appropriate. Recommended keys of A, Am or C will increase your opportunity for success learning to play. I hope to have some handcrafted cedar flutes available in The Tattered Archives - absolutely beautiful and meaningfully made with intention, by Stephen Rensink. High Spirits flutes are also a quality and affordable beginning flute.
