Beethoven pushed the art of the string quartet to the limit in his time. Join us for two pillars of the quartet literature culminating in Beethoven’s marathon Grosse Fuge. Universally condemned upon its premiere the work’s titanic struggle has secured its place as one of the greatest (and most difficult) masterpieces of the string quartet repertoire.
