*TOPIC: THE STRENGTH OF THE COMMUNITY IN PRAISE - Part 1.*
*MEMORIZE: "But You are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel." Psalm 22:3.*
*"How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!" Psalm 133:1.*
*SCRIPTURE READING: 2 Chronicles 5:11-14.*
*“And it came to pass when the priests came out of the Most Holy Place (for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves, without keeping to their divisions), 12 and the Levites who were the singers, all those of Asaph and Heman and Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, stood at the east end of the altar, clothed in white linen, having cymbals, stringed instruments and harps, and with them one hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets- 13 indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying: "For He is good, For His mercy endures forever," that the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud, 14 so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God.”*
*EXPOSITION:*
Praise is more than a personal act of worship; it is a unifying force that strengthens the body of Christ. When believers come together to lift up the name of the Lord, they create an environment where God’s power, presence, and purpose are revealed.
Today, we will explore the transformative power of communal praise and how it strengthens the church spiritually, emotionally, and relationally.
*1. COMMUNAL PRAISE INVITES GOD’S PRESENCE*
*"But You are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel."* Psalm 22:3.
When we praise together, we create a throne for God’s presence to dwell among us. His presence brings peace, healing, and breakthrough. In 2 Chronicles 5:13-14, when the Levites praised God in unison, the glory of the Lord filled the temple, and the priests couldn’t stand to minister. Encourage the congregation to come together in praise, knowing that God moves mightily when His people worship in unity.
*2. COMMUNAL PRAISE BUILDS UNITY AND ENCOURAGES FELLOWSHIP*
Hebrews 10:24-25 – *"Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together."*
When we praise God as one, we strengthen the bond of unity within the church. Praise shifts our focus from individual needs to collective worship. Acts 2:46-47 shows the early church praising God together daily, which led to growth and favor among the people. Praise is a reminder that we are part of something greater than ourselves—a body of believers united in Christ.
The strength of the community in praise lies in its ability to invite God’s presence, build unity, release power, and testify to the world. As we lift our voices together, we fulfill our purpose as the body of Christ and experience the fullness of His blessings.
*Call to Action:*
* Commit to praising God not just individually but as a community.
* Encourage each other to gather regularly for worship, knowing that God moves powerfully when His people are united in praise.
*PRAYER POINTS:* i. Lord, we thank You for the gift of community and the power of praise. Unite our hearts as we worship You together, and let our praise bring glory to Your name in Jesus’ name.
ii. Lord, May Your presence dwell among us and transform us for Your purpose in Jesus’ name. Amen.
