Ancestral Ties: A Ceremonial Shibari Theatre Performance

A Wild Pleasure Sanctuary x Viriditas Apothecary x The Willow Sisters Community Production

About this Event

$35 Early Bird Tickets (until November 8)

$40 General Admission

A weaving of evocative visuals, captivating soundscape & embodied storytelling, Ancestral Ties is a ceremonial Shibari theatre performance that invites us on a journey of remembering our belonging with our ancestors.

As the nights grow longer and we tend to what has been harvested in previous seasons, we move through the threshold of Samhain, where lines of communication blur and soften. Multi-faceted and layered like intricate phyllo pastry, Ancestral Ties admits to the beauty as well as the harshness one might discover in the vast realms of lineage and ancestry. It is always complicated, no matter who you are or where you come from. Rooted in ritual and collective engagement, we are all invited to celebrate and learn how to tend to both the lands we currently inhabit and to those we have inhabited many moons ago.

The ropes weave our embodied prayers and unravel old stories that get in the way of accessing our true power. Flowers and plant allies serve as adornment, energetic protection, and as vibrant reminders of our innate belonging to nature.

Ancestral Ties showcases the maturation of Full Bloom, a reverence to the precious threshold of summer solstice, empowerment, and sensual surrender between maiden and mother. Now, arriving at the altar together and eager for more, there are increasing shadows to befriend and explore.

We will have a Community Altar at the event, inviting both individual and collective honouring and celebration of all our lineages. You are invited to bring any pictures or items of deceased loved ones to place on the altar. Offerings are welcome too.

We will be collecting donations suuporting a local indigenous organization as well.

Your ticket includes a cozy, warm beverage handcrafted by Viriditas Apothecary as well as delicious snacks from our scrumptious grazing board (we will have vegan + gluten free options available).
