About this Event

The From Your Ancestor Project is excited to be hosting our first ever Tattoo workshop in collaboration with GLAD DAY LIT who has opened their new location on Lisgar Street! Our goal with this project is to promote multi-media storytelling on Indigenous historical figures and community issues in order to bridge the gaps between rural and urban youths connection to ancestral healing practices.

Come join us at 32 Lisgar Street for a fun little hand poking tattoo workshop! Hosted on December 11th at 3pm, From Your Ancestor will be showcasing tattooing as an act of cultural preservation. We will talk about the vast and true history of tattooing, with a focus on Anishinaabe traditions.
