Ancestral Altar and Tarot Workshop

There is no better time to learn about creating your own altar for ancestral veneration.
Hi my name is Jess and I have my local Peckham Tarot practice called Tia Xixa Tarot - dedicated to my Brazilian dad's aunties who interpreted cards.

Honouring my ancestors is at the heart of my practice. I do this through methods passed down from my family lineage as well as what I have learned from my teachers and things I tried out myself, that work for me.

Dedicating an altar to specific members of your family lineage can have many effects on your current life, including altering or strengthening the traits and characteristics, patterns and relationship dynamics you experience in the present moment.

By looking into the family tree and with the help of Tarot Cards, we will uncover the stories, archetypes and symbols that are most relevant to you, now.

This will be an intimate group setting of up to 5 people, in Tia Xixa's cozy home Tarot Studio in the heart of Peckham.

What to expect on the night:

• Connect with your family tree through tarot (we will have individual mini tarot readings in a group setting)
• Learn the basic principles of setting up an ancestral altar at home, so you can do it whever you like
• Learn about ritual, offerings, and tending to the altar and communicating with your ancestors
• Light refreshments will be served throughout the night
• You will receive a goodie bag to take home with you with the essentials to set up your altar at home
• A relaxed, welcoming and pleasant environment to share in a small group
• Salvador the cat keeping us company(please only book a ticket if you are fine with being in a space with a cat)
  
• What to bring?
  
• Pen and notepad
• A small object you would like to offer to your ancestors ( eg. small sweets, a coin, small trinket of importance, a foto of one of your ancestors - anything you would like to activate on the night and take back home to create or add to your own ancestral altar)
• Bring your own deck of Tarot Cards if you have one, or work with the ones provided on the day
