Samhain is the third and final Harvest. The dark winter half of the year commences on this Sabbat. It is a magical interval when the mundane laws of time and space are temporarily suspended, and the Thin Veil between the worlds is lifted. Communicating with ancestors and departed loved ones is easy at this time, for they journey through this world on their way to the Summerland.
his year's ritual will be lead by our president Rev Dodge and Ministerial Student Corie. Ritual will begin promptly at 2:00 pm.
We will also be having our traditional post-service potluck meal. All are asked to bring a dish to share, and are welcome to stay after service has ended and join in the festivities. There will be a sign-up sheet at the church in the weeks leading up to the event. The food theme for this holiday is "dishes that remind you of a lost loved one."
Also, if you have lost a loved one in the past year (whether it be a friend, family member, or pet) we encourage you to bring a rock to add to our ancestors burial mound in honor of their memory.
