ANC 4B Earth Day Fair

Gather with neighbors for Advisory Neighborhood Commission 4B's Second Annual Earth Day Fair at Takoma Elementary School (7010 Piney Branch Road, NW) on Saturday, May 18th from 11 am - 2 pm ??. Join government agencies, non-profits, neighborhood groups, student organizations, and more with the goal of sharing resources and opportunities for engagement around environmentalism!

The event is hosted by Advisory Neighborhood Commission 4B's Executive Committee. Confirmed participants include: District Department of Energy and Environment, RiverSmart Homes; Zero Waste DC; District Department of Public Works, Helping Hands (community cleanup program); District Department of Transportation, Urban Forestry Division; District Department of Transportation, Trails Team; DC Public Library; Sierra Club - DC Chapter; Ward 8 Woods; Washington Area Bicyclist Association; and Blair Road Community Garden(with more to come).

We're incorporating service into this year's event! Join us for one or more of three volunteer activities with Takoma Elementary's school garden: (1) school garden weeding and bed repair (11:00-1:00); (2) school garden planting (1:00-2:00); and (3) installation of rain barrels (1:00-2:00). We will also have an educational session on environmentalism (more to come).

This event is family friendly and will include a craft activity for kids, including temporary tattoos, coloring pages, sidewalk chalk, and more. Takoma Elementary's PTO will be selling food and snacks. We will have a free raffle for several DC prizes from some beloved local businesses.
