Our Anatomy 101 | Basic Poses | Alignment course provides students with a beginning understanding of human anatomy and its application to a yoga practice.The course covers a range of topics related to anatomy, including the skeletal, muscular, respiratory, and nervous systems. We explore the basic structure and function of each system and how they relate to the practice of yoga.
In addition, our Anatomy 101 course emphasizes the importance of alignment and safety in a yoga practice. We explore the relationship between alignment and anatomy, teaching students how to assess and adjust poses to ensure that they are safe and effective for their students. We also discuss the use of props and modifications to accommodate different body types and levels of flexibility.
Throughout the course, we use a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, hands-on demonstrations, and practical exercises. We provide students with the opportunity to explore and practice the principles of anatomy in a safe and supportive environment, giving them the confidence and skills to incorporate this knowledge into their practice and/or teaching.
This course is for anyone interested in learning more.
- For the yoga student, you'll come away with a better understanding of many common poses you see in your yoga classes.
- For those enrolled in our 200hr training, this is the official kick off class of your training and counts as 1 credit. If you've already enrolled in the full course, you're already registered.
- For those interested in obtaining a 300hr, this is also 1 credit towards the completion of your journey.
- For yoga teachers seeking CE, this course will serve as 10 CE hours which you may submit to Yoga Alliance.
