In this workshop, M. Devon Boorman will teach you how to 'analyze, categorize, and counter your opponents with precision and purpose.' You’ll learn to identify your opponent’s strengths, weaknesses, and behavioral patterns by safely probing and fitting them into a tactical framework. From there, you’ll learn how to develop effective, on-the-fly counter-strategies and gather useful data to guide your future training and beat your toughest sparring partners.
Key Skills You’ll Develop:
- Probing with Purpose: How to safely test and analyze an opponent’s behaviors.
- The Combative Attitude Framework: Identify and categorize opponents into six tactical archetypes.
- Understanding Tempo and Attitude: Recognize the tempos opponents offer and how their combat attitude influences behavior.
- Strategic Countering: Build effective counters based on an opponent’s likely tempos, and attitude.
- The Seven Provocations: Learn how to trigger and manipulate your opponent’s predictable behaviors to gain advantage.
By the end of this workshop, you’ll have a clear tactical system to analyze opponents, develop adaptable strategies, and build your effective fighting form. Weapon agnostic.
