About AJ Holmes
As co-founder and CEO of Negative Supply, AJ & his team actively design and manufacture tools within the film photography industry that make film photographers' lives easier. Driven to help other photographers tell their own story, Negative Supply has designed a wide range of revolutionary film scanning tools for all formats up to 8x10 inch film. As early pioneers of film scanning with a digital camera, the Negative Supply team now proudly serves tens of thousands of photographers globally, focusing on a faster and easier film scanning workflow.
Additionally, AJ is a photographer and artist passionate about portraiture, recently focusing on documenting his immediate family. Actively shooting film since 2006, he has used all formats from 35mm to 8x10, and primarily uses medium and large format in his current work. A graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, AJ holds a degree in photography and business administration. Inspired by his undergraduate professors to push boundaries, he took the advice of late mentor Tom Jimison and began working with the 4x5 view camera in 2015. He also followed the guidance of late mentor Jonathan Trundle to develop a practice using color negative film. Color negative film is a prevalent theme in his current project documenting his parents in and around their Tennessee home.
