Continuing its reach across Canada and abroad. It’s finally coming home to Ottawa.
Erik Alvaro presents Anak (Child ) to The World is a solo dance theatre show based on Erik’s life growing up in Ottawa as Filipino Canadian. Highlighting the struggle of balancing Filipino and Canadian identities, piecing together fragmented cultural memories alongside his inner child. Through the street dance forms of Punk/Pose/W^ack-ing & House to the Maria Clara suite folkloric dances to the traditional southern Philippine genre of Pangalay.
