An Evening of Mantra, Kirtan, Sacred Sound and Embodiment Ritual

As the season shifts and the evenings soften, we gather for a heart-opening immersion of ritual, music, and shared presence.

Anahata — the heart center — invites us into connection, expansion, and a deeper sense of belonging. This special evening unfolds as both outdoor ritual and indoor sacred sound journey — weaving nature, voice, and vibration into one collective experience.

At its core, this gathering is about opening the heart — gently, organically, and together.

6:00pm — Check-In
Arrive, settle, and connect.

6:30–7:00pm — Outdoor Sunset Mantra & Embodiment Ritual
We begin outside in the golden light of sunset with breath, mantra, and gentle embodied movement — grounding into the earth and opening the heart space in community.

7:00–7:30pm — Indoor Arrival & Settling
Transition indoors. Cushions, blankets, water, and a softly held ambiance await. A brief welcome and intention setting prepares us for the concert experience.

7:30–9:00pm — Mantra, Kirtan & Nāda Sacred Sound Concert Begins

This portion of the evening becomes a journey through stillness and ecstasy — a dynamic arc that moves between meditative depth and uplifting collective energy.

You’ll experience:

• Meditative sacred sound rooted in Nāda Yoga
• Vocals blended with mantra and Indian rāga–inspired tonal landscapes
• Intuitive chants woven with world music textures from Romania, India, Africa, and the Middle East
• Layered instrumental soundscapes that support deep listening and nervous system regulation

The evening will also include kirtan in the traditional call-and-response style, with roots in Bhakti Yoga. Through collective singing, rhythm, and repetition, the space naturally shifts into a shared field of voice and vibration — where individual sound dissolves into communal resonance.

At moments, the music becomes expansive and ecstatic. At others, it softens into stillness. Together, we move through expression, quiet, rhythm, and resonance — allowing the heart to open in its own time and way.

Artists

Mokshajyoti Chumki (Moksha), born in India and now based in Portland, is the creator of Moss & Moksha. She is a sacred sound artist and mantra/kirtan vocalist, her work weaves Nāda Yoga, Indian rāga traditions, Vedic mantra, shamanic and tibetan sound inspired vocals, intuitive singing, and layered instrumental textures including handpan, harmonium, percussions and various other healing instruments.

Her offerings are designed to support nervous system regulation, emotional openness, and embodied connection — where stillness and movement, sound and silence, naturally unfold.

For this special evening, Mokshajyoti is joined by multi-instrumental artist and musical storyteller Calin Matei, whose multi-instrumental artistry and Roma heritage bring an earthy, ancestral dimension to the soundscape. His musical language draws from oral traditions and ancient roots across cultures, adding depth and texture to the collective journey.

Together, the intention is simple:

To gather.
To receive.
To listen, sing and connect in community.

And to allow sound to guide us back into the heart — individually and together.
