Please join us for the opening reception of "Ana Teresa Fernández: TransPollination of Eden"on Saturday, September 27 from 2:30-5pm. Ana Teresa will give an Artist’s Talk at 3pm during the reception. Looking forward to seeing you in the gallery!
“TransPollination of Eden” immerses viewers in a dazzling sculptural forest ecosystem populated with pollinators and a huge mythical Mayan serpent. Ana Teresa Fernández has created an electrifying, abstract vision of plant and animal forms with patterned, mirrored surfaces and neon plexiglas foliage and appendages. As viewers see themselves reflected everywhere within the flora and fauna, their reflections invite them to recognize the interconnectivity between humans and the earth and our role in maintaining a healthy ecosystem.
This is the fourth of Cabrillo Gallery's LatinXperiencia exhibitions featuring LatinX artists, which offer a platform to foster cross-cultural connections and conversations.
