Festival 451indy, brought to you by the Ray Bradbury Center, is proud to present AN UNTUCHING, a captivating collaborative performance by artist Johanna Winters and musician Gabe Garber. This unique event will take place on Saturday, September 28th, 2024, at Tomorrow Bookstore.AN UNTUCHING is a collaborative performance with artists Johanna Winters and Gabe Garber that explores the politics of touch by pairing experimental shadow puppetry and new music for solo guitar. The original score was composed by cellist Ethan Philbrick and has been adapted by Garber for this performance.
This intimate performance pairs Winters’ experimental shadow puppetry with an original score composed by cellist Ethan Philbrick, which has been masterfully adapted by Gabe Garber for solo guitar.
What to Expect:
• A mesmerizing fusion of visual and auditory art, creating an evocative narrative about touch and its implications.
• An intimate setting within Tomorrow Bookstore, allowing for a deeply personal and immersive experience.

This work was partially funded by IU Research through the Public Arts and Humanities Project.
This performance is a highlight of Festival 451indy, where the theme "Here There Be Monsters" is interpreted through various artistic mediums. AN UNTUCHING invites attendees to reflect on the unseen monsters that dwell within the politics of touch, challenging our perceptions and emotions.
