The first weekend in October we'll be having our annual Oktoberfest celebration bierFEST! Usually we showcase a variety of British breweries making fabulous lager but this year we'll be focusing on one brewery.
Gracing our taps will be tip top Lager Supremos Utopian! Probably one of the best lager breweries in the UK they will be taking over four of our taps. We'll have guest pales for the non lager drinkers on the other two. But you might find something you like.
On Saturday we'll be joined by Magpies Magnificent Pies with some treats to keep you full while swigging delicious beers.
On Sunday the decks will be out and we'll be joined by record collector, friend and all round good guy Josep Shwartz (aka Joe Black) who will be taking us on appropriate musical journey.
Beers we'll be pouring:
Pales and IPAs TBC - but we're hoping for some German Craft Beer treats.
Utopian Beers - We'll let the experts tell you...
4.9% Franconian Dunkel
"Brewed with our friends and titans of lager brewing, Braybrooke Beer Co, to celebrate the Love & Beer festival 2024. This is our take on a Franconian Dunkel, brewed with dark malts and a touch of smoked malt, double decocted, fermented cold (of course), and hopped with East Kent Goldings. Pours a deep mahogany, bread crust, toffee and tobacco on the nose. Rich body with biscuit and toast leading to a pleasantly crisp and bitter finish. A tribute to the lagers of yesteryear."
5.5% Festbier 2024:
"Our Helles style Festbier is everything we love about Oktoberfest without the lederhosen. Brewed in the traditional Bavarian style using a double decoction mash to develop depth of flavour and body. Fermented slow and cold, and lagered for six weeks, ensuring a clean, soft mouthfeel, which is full flavoured and beautifully balanced."
5.4% Fest-Märzen
"Märzen is a glorious style of lager which reaches back to a time where brewing was only done in the colder months. The finest beers were produced at the end of the season in March, and lagered through the summer, coming out of hibernation in time for Oktoberfest. Paying homage to these seasonal brews, our Märzen is a strong, malt forward amber lager, which is complex and satisfying."
4.7% Unfiltered Lager
"The no-nonsense sibling of our signature Premium British Lager. Clean and crisp finish, with even more character. Light in colour, with a slight haze from retained yeast."
Prost!
