An Ocean of Quilts
About this Event
The colorful world of quilting comes alive over three days: April 1, 2, 3, 2027 in Georgetown, Delaware. Thursday 10 am to 5pm, Friday 10 am to 5 pm, Saturday 10 am to 3 pm.
Take a walk through our stunning quilt exhibit, featuring over 200 exquisite quilts crafted by talented quilters. Each quilt tells a story, reflecting the passion and dedication of its creator. From traditional patterns to modern designs, visitors will encounter a diverse array of quilting techniques and styles.
In addition to Raffle Baskets, Raffle Quilts and a Vendor Market, the show will feature a lecture and trunk show by acclaimed quilt designer, instructor and author, Timna Tarr. Visitors will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite 30th Anniversary Challenge Quilt, made by members of the guild. Quilt Appraisals will also be available.
With onsite catering, and free parking, we invite you to join us for all three days! Located mere miles from Delaware’s beautiful coastline, you will want to come for the quilts, and stay for the beach. Discount hotel rates are available for our visitors.

Ocean Waves Quilt Guild supports the community needs by donating handmade items to various charities and organizations. This includes such items as heart pillows for breast cancer patients, pillowcases for medical patients, baby quilts for new mothers, teddy bears for first responders, patriotic quilts for military personnel donated to Quilts of Valor, quilts for the homeless, and many more. OWQG members contribute their time and talent to help our neighbors all over Sussex County.
Our monthly meetings include speakers and classes, quilting bees, and bi-annual retreats. We host two sew ins a year to help the community service groups meet their goal of quilts and other items for the area. These efforts bring the members together with award winning artists to continue their education and hone their technique.
Ocean Waves Quilt Guild, Inc. (OWQG) is a 501c3 organization established in 1997. We rely on our membership fees and income from other fund-raising activities to help carry out our mission of charitable community support and education.
