An Introduction to Using The Common Application:
Free Workshop for Artists

with host MARGOT MELCON
Zellerbach Family Foundation

April 4 at 6pm
135 Main Street, SF | Online via Zoom

What is The Common App? The Common App simplifies the grant application process and unifies how grant questions are asked so grantseekers’ responses can be used to apply for multiple funding opportunities. Launched in 2023, it’s a first-of-its-kind tool for artists, arts organizations, and fiscally sponsored projects seeking vital project and general operating grant funding from Bay Area-focused foundations and grantmaking organizations.

Bay Area arts funders that are currently implementing The Common App welcome grantseekers to a free workshop to provide an overview of the tool. Topics covered will include:

  • An Overview of The Common App
  • What kind of funding is available through The Common App
  • How The Common App is integrated with other applications
  • General approaches to application questions
  • The Budget Template tool

Join this event in person or virtually to gain insight on how best to benefit from this innovative tool – a pathway to arts funding in the Bay Area.
