Join the first session in this two part series for an introduction to permaculture: people and planet, taking place at Cecil Sharp House.
About this Event

The first training session in this two-part series will give an overview of how permaculture emerged and how the core ethics and principles point to a different approach to living with the natural world.

We will then look at how we can fulfil the first ethic of permaculture: earthcare with a particular focus on the active, cooperative interaction between soil biology and plants. As the Hindu Vedas tell us “Upon this handful of soil our survival depends. Care for it, and it will grow our food, our fuel, our shelter and surround us with beauty. Abuse it, and the soil will collapse and die, taking humanity with it.”

This session will provide information on the soilfoodweb, permaculture plant guilds and include some practical activities that people can undertake. It will be a twilight session taking place on Thursday 30 June from 6-8.30pm at Cecil Sharp House in Camden.

The second training session will take place on Thursday 14 July at the Josiah Braithwaite Community Garden in White City. You can attend these sessions either together or individually.
