About this Event
Rev. Koshin Schomberg, a monk in the Soto Zen (Serene Reflection meditation) tradition of Buddhism, will offer a workshop on Buddhist meditation at the Olympia Unitarian Universalist Church.
Rev. Koshin will explain how to meditate, and will demonstrate its application in sitting on a traditional meditation cushion, sitting on a chair or stool, kneeling (with bench or cushion), standing, walking, and lying down. Two short periods of sitting meditation, separated by a shorter period of walking meditation, will be included in the workshop.
"This type of meditation is not done in stages. It is simply the lawful gateway to carefree peace."--Zen Master Dogen, 13th century CE.
There is no fee for the workshop. Donations are welcome.
You do not need to preregister for this event to attend it. Just show up.
The event takes place in Room #5. Use side entrance.
