This workshop is for Dancers who attended my previous workshops &/or for those with some basic Blues dancing experience. https://www.lewisbarfoot.com/bluesdancecork
The approach I take to teaching Blues is about exploring and connecting to the feeling, the impulse behind the movement, your breath, bringing all of yourself to the dance and to the inter-relatedness between you and your partner. I share tools and techniques to have a more authentic, present, connected dance. And also teach you principles of moves, basic steps, and short sequences. And this can positively impact all of your dancing whether it be Lindy, disco, blues or bal.
We will close with a 30min space for social dancing to bed in what you have learnt.
THINGS TO CONSIDER
No partner required. Please sign up as a lead/follow or switch. We will do a decent warm up and work on some basic principles solo before partnering up.
Bring your full water bottle.
You can work barefoot in the space or please bring a clean 2nd pair of indoor shoes (not heels) to dance with and leave your street shoes outside of the studio.
