Diane Kennedy began practicing yoga at Urban Yoga in Saratoga Springs in 2003, where she completed her 200 hour teacher training. She has sampled many styles of yoga, including Iyengar, Jivamukti, Om, Bikram and Prajna Yoga, but Ashtanga Yoga has long been her primary practice. She has practiced with David Swenson, Kino MacGregor, Harmony Slater, Richard Freeman, David Williams, K. Pattabhi Jois, Manju Jois, and Tom Rosenthal. She co-owned Yoga Mandali with Heather Dacus, and also taught the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga at Washington Park Yoga in Albany. She views Ashtanga, with its emphasis on the breath, focused gaze and choreographed sequences of postures connected by flowing movements to be a platform for meditation as well as a path to strength and good physical health. She lives on a small hobby farm near the Vermont border
