I invite you to come on a journey with me… A journey of self-discovery, an awakening of your body/mind/breath connection, and a freeing of your expressive and natural speaking voice. On this 8-week exploration, you will take a deep dive into the psycho-physical landscape of your presence and draw out personalized sighs, hums, and sounds that will become the blueprint of your true voice’s potential. Everything you desire is already within you!
Did you know the human voice has a 3.5-4 octave range? What’s stopping you from you using your full voice? Do you get nervous and go inward when your presence is challenged? Are you curious about strengthening your vocal stamina and authority? Perhaps, it’s about seeking softness and allowing for more release in your breath & body for greater vocal impact. Come be the researcher of one of the most powerful instruments you have to navigate and advocate what you’re fighting for. Come journey with me to reveal more of YOU through your voice!

PART TWO - Sunday, Feb 12, 19, 26, & Mar 5th — Breath Capacity/Sensitivity/Power, Sinus/Nasal/Skull Resonators, Arpeggios, and Articulation + Text Exploration

Your Guide: Matthew (he/him) is a Designated Linklater Teacher in training and will complete his designation in June, 2023. He is a sought out interdisciplinary educator and artist with a unique and diverse background in performance, voice & speech, movement, choreography, and direction. Matthew is an Instructor of Voice at Toronto Metropolitan University, an Associate Faculty member at the Moving Voice Institute, and is the creator of Body Presence Workshop. He has also taught voice and musical theatre workshops at The Juilliard School, Circle in the Square Theatre School, Hart House/UC Summer Drama, Musical Stage Company, The Stratford Festival, Bravo Academy, and many others. As a performer, selected credits span from Broadway (Tony nominated JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR), Off-Broadway (ZORBA), National Tours (FIDDLER ON THE ROOF), ‘Zach’ in A CHORUS LINE – B’way World San Francisco nomination, and ‘Flute/Thisbe’ in Theatre Rusticle’s acclaimed A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM – Dora nomination. Matthew is the Executive Board Chair of Pounds Per Square Inch Performance, the 2022-24 VASTA at ATHE Focus Group Representative, and holds an M.F.A. in Performance with an Emphasis on Teaching (Voice) from York University.
