Join for an evening of conversation between poet, musician, and author Patti Smith with the world-renowned celebrity photographer, Lynn Goldsmith. They will talk about the period of time 1976-1979 from which the images in Lynn’s new Rizzoli coffee table photo book titled “Before Easter After”, were made. The images are an intimate visual survey of the period before and after Patti’s most popular album EASTER. Accompanying many of the images are some of Patti's lyrics as well as never before seen writing from that time. The book, signed by both artists, documents not only a transformative moment in Patti Smith's career, it celebrates two women who were and still are breaking boundaries with their work.Moderated by Emma Silvers, the evening will be a freestyle format of Lynn and Patti sharing stories with a visual presentation from the book. It will be followed by a short performance by Patti with Tony Shanahan
A portion of ticket sales will be donated to the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, which provides assistance to all types of career musicians and music industry workers who are facing financial challenges amidst physical or mental health issues or disability.
