Join us for an intimate evening with Grammy-nominated Canadian artist Laura Roy, who rarely performs on the West Coast. Based in London, UK, Laura is returning to Canada as a 2026 Musician in Residence at the Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity—and she's making a special stop in Vancouver to perform at the Gallery at Artech.Laura Roy is a rising force in contemporary music, blending 70s folk sensibilities with 90s R&B influences to create what she calls "soulful alt-R&B." Originally from Canning, Nova Scotia, she's earned two Grammy nominations as a songwriter and vocalist on Doja Cat's Planet Her album, while also touring as a backing vocalist for major international acts including Sabrina Carpenter, Dua Lipa, and more. She's a two-time East Coast Music Award winner and her music has been featured on Spotify editorial playlists and BBC Radio.This is a rare opportunity to experience Laura's distinctive voice and songwriting up close—an intimate gallery performance before she heads east to her Banff residency. Her debut album, recently completed during a creative homecoming to Nova Scotia, is poised to establish her as one of Canada's most compelling emerging voices.Doors open at 7:30 pm, show starts at 8:00 pm sharp.
