Dimensions collide on the Interdimensional New Years, the gateways open to another dimension and you can step out of time. This is a time of celebration as we explore the psychedelic possibilities of renewal in a cocoon of sound with the finest sonic curators there are. Stage Y is warm — a musical heater for the soul, Stage X is monolithic and will take you to the other side. The venue will be transformed by Amber Gillen & the Infinite Dimensions Crew, setting the stage for the launching point. Sonic reinforcement arrives in the form of Jim Gibbons and his AVS all star crew.
Stage X is the monolithic sound — the wormhole experience. Miami meets Detroit in a finely weaved sonic meeting of the minds when Miami hero Danny Daze plays a 3 hour set with Detroit legend BMG. Expect a solid yet ever evolving blurring and bending of genres as we drill down until we find the pure essence of bass, freak music, and grooves from beyond. Another No Way Back resident, Erika will bring her ever articulate and unpredictable approach to massive sound system music, bringing in the New Year. Future Bass will have one of it’s headiest proponents in the guise of Darwin, whose Reef event series at Berghain is celebrated world wide for its deep and inspiring vision. Detroit gems Blackmoonchild & ALANNA will conjure a futuristic insight into sound while launching the ritual for Stage X. Come experience the other side.
For Stage Y we have the musical heater, a sound that we’ve named because it heats you up from the inside — deep within your soul. Words cannot express how excited we are to have Chicago digger extraordinaire Sadar Bahar bless Stage Y. He is one of the few DJs besides Ron Hardy to have played at the Musik Box. He’s been collecting, curating and cultivating records for decades. He connects the past to this very moment, bringing you the soul renewing power of disco through his deeply perceptive and inspiring take on music. You will hear things you never expected, everything will feel fresh and invigorating. He is one of the greatest Disco DJs playing today. Detroit icon Marcellus Pittman will bring his special blend of House, Techno and beyond to the mix, a veteran producer, globetrotting DJ and member of the hall-of-fame project 3 Chairs. The ever surprising and refreshing Scott Zacharias will launch the ritual in an extended set for Stage Y. How to put this? This will be a very special night of deep musical exploration and mega heads endlessly surprising each other.
The purveyors of sonic renewal come in many shapes and forms. Your crystal will begin to change color as we begin our ritual of renewal, evolved far beyond the retro future of Logan’s Run.
