About this Event

You probably have taken a commercial flight at some point or maybe even flown on a private plane. If you have ever listened to the communication between airline pilots and the controllers who guide and sequence them, it almost sounds like a foreign language, even though they are speaking English. Let’s hear from a retired Air Traffic Controller who will translate from the phraseology of aviation to understandable English. We will find out what goes on behind that cockpit door, even before take-off. Find out what happens when your plane accelerates down the runway, lifts off, climbs out, reaches cruise, while you perhaps enjoy a beverage, snack or meal. Then let’s get seated while the plane descends to the destination airport. After landing, please wait until the plane parks at the gate before getting out of your seat. Disclaimer (From Presenter): I have nothing to do with your lost luggage. We’ll highlight some of the technology involved that will be explained in English, not geek.

We will also have a question-and-answer session.
