About Heard
When rising star Chef Dawn Burrell agrees to open a restaurant with Chef Chris Williams, owner of Lucille’s Hospitality Group, she seeks advice from trailblazing Black women who have achieved remarkable success in the cutthroat culinary industry.
HEARD is a docuseries that follows Dawn alongside CBS co-host, Michelle Miller as she embarks on the biggest challenge of her career — creating a kitchen culture that is unlike anything she’s known. These standout chefs share shocking stories about what it’s like to be a Black woman in a White male-dominated industry.
The docuseries includes interviews and conversations with the first Black woman to lead a Michelin-starred restaurant; the first Black woman to earn the James Beard “Best Chef” Award,; stars of Bravo’s “Top Chef”; and American culinary diplomats.
