This event will mark thirty years since the release of Fatboy Slim’s first album, Better Living Through Chemistry, released on September 23rd, 1996. We will chat with the DJ, his real name being Norman Cook, of course, in this special interview about significant firsts in his career, from various performances and live appearances to record-breaking achievements, also some of his favourite moments and aspects, such as collaborations, remixes and about his music-making.
After being part of the Housemartins during the eighties, then forming Beats International, known for Dub Be Good to Me, he was associated with artists such as Freak Power, including the song Turn On, Tune In, Cop Out, before becoming known as Fatboy Slim. Initially, he was a DJ associated with the Big Beat sound and later released the first of four studio albums, Better Living Through Chemistry. Its singles included Everybody Needs a 303 and Going Out of My Head. His next album, You’ve Come a Long Way, Baby, was a huge success, with hit songs such as Praise You and Right Here, Right Now. For the time being, as least, he no longer makes music but continues to work as a DJ all around the world.
