This Sunday we have a special fundraising event at 5pm, and we would love your support.We're so pleased to welcome Warwick Thornton to The Mercury Cinema!
Warwick will be offering insights into his internationally acclaimed projects, including Cannes Camera d’Or winner Samson and Delilah, and his recent film The New Boy, starring Aswan Reid, Deborah Mailman, Wayne Blair and Cate Blanchett.
Warwick will share his approach to storytelling, and break down some of his favourite scenes.
The 2009 Northern Territorian of the Year, Warwick is currently developing a new project in response to the Voice referendum.
Proceeds from the evening will go towards The Mercury’s programs for emerging filmmakers, supporting the next generation of South Australian talent.
Hosted by Adelaide's own Tilda Cobham-Hervey (The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, I Am Woman, 52 Tuesdays), we are hosting a conversation with Camera D'Or and two time Un Certain Regard Award winner, Warwick Thornton.
This event is a great opportunity for aspiring actors, writers, filmmakers, and cinephiles to hear about Warwick's experiences and learn from his depth of knowledge about the industry and the business of making films.
Warwick is generously offering two hours of his time and much of his wisdom and experience to talk through his approach to film-making, working with actors and to break down scenes from his beautiful films.
Tilda is always insightful and brings joy and wonder to any conversation, and Warwick is known to be witty and passionate - it's going to be great.
With plenty of audience interaction, the event is a must-attend, whether you’re an emerging filmmaker, a cinema lover or simply a fan of Warwick’s work.
Bar open from 5pm for a complimentary drink on arrival. Session starts at 5:30. Join us in the Mercury foyer after the conversation to spend time with other filmmakers and film lovers.
