About this Event
Waterstones Milton Keynes, supported by the Milton Keynes Literary Festival, are delighted to welcome author and university lecturer, Samuel M. Sargeant, to the store on Wednesday 16th October at 7pm where he will be talking about his thrilling new historical novel, Faith of their Fathers. This is the latest event from our 'Bookshop Series'.
Perfect for fans of Ken Follett, Sergeant's well-researched novel tells the story of Arinbjorn, a young pagan farmer in Iceland at the dawn of the 11th Century. When a spate of murders threatens the fragile peace between pagans and a growing Christian minority, Arinbjorn resolves to track down the killer before his community is permanently torn apart. Helping him is Freya, an isolated housewife, whose own secrets could either destroy her or free her. Meanwhile in Norway, King Olaf Tryggvason has his own designs upon Iceland and its people, which would bolster his control over the region. Only one thing is certain - these murders will change Icelandic society forever.
Samuel will be in conversation with Dr Molly Ziegler, an expert in Early Modern Literature and Drama at the Open University, and it promises to be a fascinating evening. Tickets cost £5.00 and are available at the link, and every guest will receive a complimentary beverage. Samuel will be staying on after the event to sign and dedicate copies of his novel, so book now to secure your place at this special event.
