Bolton lad, now Knutsford luminary, Mark Radcliffe, is a BBC Radio presenter of many years. Former John Peel Sessions, Count Arthur Strong and Mrs Merton producer, plus BBC Breakfast Show presenter; Sony Radio Academy Award Winner; Glastonbury Festival presenter; Radcliffe/Maconie BBC 6 Music host; Manchester City supporter; BBC Radio 2 Folk Show host; author of the novel Northern Sky, plus three memoirs and 2019’s Crossroads: In Search of the Moments that Changed Music.
Having played live music with The Shirehorses, The Family Mahone and Galleon Blast, Radcliffe is no stranger to performing music on stage and as a member of the notorious double-act Mark And Lard, Radcliffe has now teamed up with Darktown Jubilee and Fine Lines singer/songwriter David Boardman, and the duo released their debut album First Light in 2024 followed by the new album Hearsay Heresy complete with a cover designed by Boardman who adds noted visual artist to his CV.
Their act is one of classic simplicity: two voices, two guitars, some great original songs plus the odd carefully chosen cover and the occasional rambling anecdote.
