Along with some brand new tunes, and their more theatrical favorites, the band will revisit highlights from their legendary cemetery sets at The Ghost of Uncle Joe’s, where they’ve embodied fan-favorite acts including No Doubt, Paramore, Tina Turner, the Blues Brothers, and Aretha Franklin. Hear the stories behind the music, sing along to the big choruses, and soak up a night of community and unforgettable live performance. Joining them as special guests is the unforgettable gothic-Americana duo The Wedding Funeral.FEATURING:
Forget the Whale is an original, genre-bending pop/rock septet based in Jersey City and fronted by powerhouse female vocals. Their catchy, sing-along tunes are backed by a brassy horn section, creating a sound that’s both bold and danceable. The band is known for its many performances around the city—from the Grove Street PATH and the pedestrian plaza to the graves of the Harsimus Cemetery and the fountain at Lincoln Park. Forget the Whale has also been featured three times at the Art House Productions Snow Ball Gala.
The Wedding Funeral: From the New Jersey Pines, Darren Deicide and Ethel Lynn Oxide bring their “beautifully bleak” style of Gothic Americana to a world bereft of genuine moroseness, raw cynicism, and inventive musicianship. Using homemade vernacular instruments including musical saw and cigar box guitar, The Wedding Funeral unsettle, tease, and disturb their audiences.
