About this Event
Join us for a special evening with Emmanuel Oppong-Yeboah, Boston's Fourth Poet Laureate. They will read their poetry and then take questions from the audience. Oppong-Yeboah is a Ghanaian American poet, editor, and educator living out the diaspora in Boston, Massachusetts. They are both Black & alive. Born in 1993, Emmanuel is the school librarian at the Joseph Lee School in Dorchester, and in the past has served as a teaching artist at organizations such as the MassLEAP , the Cambridge Arts Council, and the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston. In their free time, Emmanuel enjoys hot carbs, brightly colored chapbooks, and the long sigh at the end of a good book.
Suggested $10 donation at the door. All donations will be given to the Sudanese American Physicians Association.
Emmanuel's chapbook, not without small joys, will be available for purchase. A book signing will happen after the Q&A.
This is your opportunity to speak with Emmanuel about their tenure, poetry, and championing of literary arts and youth engagement across Boston. Submit your questions in advance here.
