We have a special event in store for you. Drew Huffine and Emily Virgil of Trail Marker Wine Co. are coming to Aardvark!The husband-and-wife team are the folks behind a growing star in California winemaking. While Drew was cutting his teeth in the wine industry, he and Emily met while she was a costume stylist in the Los Angeles film industry. They got married and she joined him on his wine journey. After working for some highly regarded producers in California, they bought some fruit and Trail Marker was born in 2012. Drew is also the winemaker for Lioco, another gem in California wines. My first date with Megan included a bottle of Lioco chardonnay. The style of the wines between the two wineries are very similar. Purchase good fruit from the best sites, don't fuss around with it too much, and let the wine express itself and where it's from. Chardonnay for people who don't like chardonnay. Elegant pinot noirs. And some fun, quirky wines under their Kid Sister brand with fruit from Lodi.
We're hosting Drew and Emily at our shop for a casual tasting of five of their wines and it's only $20. We're offering a deal on this tasting so more of you have an opportunity to meet them and experience their wines with some dollars left over to buy your favorites. The pouring will begin at 6pm and end at 8pm. You'll get a pour of each wine to try. If you want more, you can purchase them by the glass or bottle. We ask that you RSVP so we have an estimated head count but you won't pay until the evening of the event.
