Dr. Zhen Yan is Professor and founding Director of the Center for Exercise Medicine Research at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute, Virginia Tech Carilion in Roanoke. For the last 36 years, Dr. Yan has studied the molecular signaling mechanisms underlying the health benefits of exercise in humans using cutting-edge molecular genetics and molecular imaging methods on animal models. Widely recognized for his work, he currently serves as Vice Chairman for the International Research Group of Biochemistry of Exercise (IRGBE).
