A special evening with #1 New York Times bestselling author and two-time Pulitzer winner COLSON WHITEHEAD in celebration of COOL MACHINE.
About this Event

Join us for a very special evening with #1 New York Times bestselling author and two-time Pulitzer winner Colson Whitehead (The Underground Railroad, Nickel Boys)!

Whitehead is visiting Winnipeg for the first time to celebrate the publication of (Bond Street Books), an exuberantly entertaining novel that brings to life 1980s New York in the magnificent final volume of his Harlem Trilogy.

This event will take place in the Muriel Richardson Auditorium at the Winnipeg Art Gallery and feature a presentation from the author followed by an on stage conversation hosted by David A. Robertson. There are two ticket packages: admission for one and admission for two. Each package includes one signed hardcover copy of the book. The evening will not be livestreamed.

With his usual pitch-perfect prose, Colson Whitehead paints a portrait of a city in transition, where shimmering skyscrapers rise to the heavens as displaced people huddle in abandoned tunnels below. In a dazzling display of protean imagination, Cool Machine roves all over the city, from Windows on the World to the Meadowlands, to show that in New York, and in the lives of Whitehead’s vivid characters, it’s what’s below the surface that reveals the truth.

Colson Whitehead is a #1 New York Times bestselling author and a two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize, for and (which received the National Book Award and was named one of the Ten Best Books of the Year by The New York Times Book Review).
