Join the Friends of the Athens-Clarke County Library and Avid Bookshop for an evening with author Cat Shook, who will be discussing her debut novel IF WE'RE BEING HONEST.
Shook graduated from the University of Georgia in 2016 with degrees in Creative Writing and Mass Media Arts. Born and raised in Georgia, she now lives in Manhattan.
Described as "a poignant exploration of the bonds of family and all the ways love can surprise us, at any age," Shook's novel is being published by Celadon/Macmillan in April 2023.
From the publisher: "When Gerry, the beloved Williams patriarch, dies suddenly, his grandchildren flock from across the country to the family home in small-town Eulalia, Georgia. But when Gerry’s best friend steps up to the microphone, he delivers a eulogy—and a confession—that rewrites the Williams family history."
Following a conversation with the author, books will be available for purchase and signing.
