Audra McDonald is unparalleled in the breadth and versatility of her artistry as both a singer and an actor. The winner of a record-breaking six Tony Awards, two Grammy Awards, and an Emmy, she has been named one of TIME magazine’s “100 most influential people” and received the National Medal of Arts from President Barack Obama. Her Tony-winning Broadway triumphs include "Carousel", "Master Class", "Ragtime", "A Raisin in the Sun", The Gershwins’ "Porgy and Bess", and "Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill", with her most recent historic nomination for Gypsy making her the most decorated performer in Tony history. On stage with her jazz trio, McDonald brings new life to Broadway classics and contemporary favorites alike, treating audiences to unforgettable selections from across her celebrated repertoire, including signature moments from "Gypsy", "Porgy and Bess", "Carousel", and more. A Juilliard-trained soprano and acclaimed recording artist, her latest solo album Sing Happy was recorded live with the New York Philharmonic for Decca Gold. She is also known on screen for “The Good Fight”, “The Gilded Age”, Respect, and Beauty and the Beast, and is a passionate advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights, Black theater, and community justice.
