The Old Palace, Worcester WR1 2JE.

Standard Ticket: £15 includes talk and complimentary drink

Exclusive Ticket: £59.50 includes talk, complimentary drink, and an engraved Perpetual Flame to take home.

Allister shares Worcester Cathedral's commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainability, making him the perfect partner for this project. He was the first glass artist in the UK to convert from gas-fired furnaces to electrically powered equipment and has worked extensively with manufacturers to develop more sustainable glassmaking technology. Today, his hot glass studio in Stourbridge is powered entirely by 100% renewable energy.

Worcester Cathedral began working with Allister to create a unique and lasting way for people to remember and celebrate loved ones. The result was the Perpetual Flame - a beautiful hand-crafted glass sculpture inspired by the act of lighting a votive candle.

Reflecting on the project, Allister says:

“I really enjoy working on projects that allow our glass to be appreciated by different audiences. It was an honour to be approached to develop something unique for the Cathedral. The idea of creating something inspired by the process of lighting a votive really appealed to me. Hopefully these pieces collectively will have a symbolic impact and mean a great deal to those who then take one.”

These exclusive hand-crafted glass flames will be available to purchase on the evening for £49.50 each. Following the talk, there will be opportunity to have your Perpetual Flame engraved with the name of a loved one. All Perpetual Flames come with a certificate of authenticity.

Please note - there is no parking at the Old Palace.
