About this Event
You’re invited to an enchanting evening of art, antiques, connection and a delightful meal at the storied Old Money Antique Barn in Snohomish.
As you arrive, the afternoon begins with a relaxed barn tour, offering time to wander through thoughtfully curated antiques, mingle with fellow creatives, and enjoy light welcome drinks and small bites. It’s an easy, unhurried way to settle into our evening together —letting curiosity lead as you soak in the charm and stories held within the barn. Stroll slowly, linger where something catches your eye, and enjoy unhurried conversation as you explore rooms filled with character, history, and quiet beauty.
We will then gather for a watercolor experience with Sarah Simon of The Mint Gardener. Painting from her Watercolor Workbook, guests are gently guided through foundational techniques using a pre-drawn botanical template, allowing full focus on color, brushwork, and the fluid elegance of the watercolor art itself. The atmosphere is calm, thoughtful, and immersive—an invitation to slow down and create with intention.
As evening approaches, the night concludes with a beautiful, nourishing dinner created by Danielle Kartes of Rustic Joyful Foods, enjoyed beneath twinkle lights and the warm glow of the barn. It’s a moment to savor good food, meaningful conversation, and the quiet magic of having spent the night creating something with your hands. Seasonal flavors, candlelight, and shared tables set the stage for lingering conversation and a sense of quiet celebration.
This is an evening designed to feel both artful and indulgent—a gathering where creativity, craftsmanship, and gracious hospitality intertwine. Come for the painting and the food, stay for the atmosphere, and leave feeling restored, inspired, and deeply cared for. You’ll remember this evening for its rare, unhurried beauty: after-hours wandering through the enchanting Old Money Antique Barn, a gentle and confidence-building watercolor experience with Sarah Simon of The Mint Gardener, and the pleasure of a seasonal, delicious and beautiful dinner by Danielle Kartes of Rustic Joyful Foods. It’s an artful, indulgent gathering designed to help you slow down, savor the moment, and leave feeling inspired, restored, and quietly delighted.
Details…
The Location
Step into The Heritage Barn, a lovingly restored former dairy barn built over a hundred years ago. With its rich history and timeless artistry preserved in every beam, the barn has served many purposes over the years and now houses Oldmoney Antique Market and Antique Liquidators Seattle.
Nestled in the quiet Snohomish Valley, the barn offers a peaceful escape that feels miles away from the digital world, yet remains close to everything. Here, surrounded by history and community, guests can slow down, connect, and savor moments in a space that inspires both reflection and joy.
The Heritage Barn isn’t just a venue—it’s a place where stories live, memories are made, and people truly feel connected. Its charm and character provide the perfect backdrop for gatherings that celebrate creativity, connection, and the simple pleasures of life.
The Painting
Settle in for a relaxed, inspiring watercolor session with Sarah Simon of The Mint Gardener, designed to help you feel comfortable, curious, and confident. Together, you’ll explore the watercolor techniques Sarah uses in her own practice, learning the foundations step by step in a way that feels approachable and intuitive. She’ll guide you through the process with clear instruction and thoughtful pacing, so you can truly enjoy the rhythm of watercolor—watching color bloom, soften, and move across the page.
To keep the focus on painting (not drawing), you’ll work from a pre-drawn art piece, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in brushwork, color mixing, and the gentle magic of watercolor. This session is an invitation to slow down, experiment, and delight in the process. All materials are included, with a curated selection of professional paints and brushes chosen especially for this evening, so you can continue painting at home long after our evening together ends.
Bring one of Sarah’s books if you have one—she’ll be happy to sign it—and she’ll also have her full collection available for purchase and signing after class. She truly can’t wait to paint with you, and to share the flowing freedom and quiet joy that comes from letting paint and water dance together on the page.
The Food
Danielle Kartes of Rustic Joyful Food will be creating a homemade meal that celebrates the heart of real, joyful cooking. Danielle believes that great food isn’t great simply because it’s expensive or prepared with the finest tools; it’s great because of the love and care put into its creation. The most wonderful food we eat is wonderful because of who made it and how they loved us. Guests will savor dishes that are simple, delicious and full of flavor—food that represents friendship, connection, and happiness in every bite.
Danielle makes real food for real life. Her recipes are authentic, approachable, and inspired by what’s on hand. She is driven by happy accidents in the kitchen, aiming to make food that’s both delicious and attainable, so everyone at the table feels the joy of cooking and eating together.
Danielle brings humor, heart, and a deep love for simple pleasures, like farmers’ markets, gardening, and thrifting, into every dish. At this event, guests will not only enjoy a delicious meal but also experience the warmth, joy, and connection that Danielle believes food brings into our lives: a reminder to live brilliantly and savor each shared moment.
We hope you'll join us for this special evening.
