Join us for a rare opportunity to see skilled artisans demonstrate ise katagami — cutting and dyeing techniques — not often seen outside of, or even in, Japan! Witness the intricate art of stenciling as artiss Keiko Nasu and Yoko Maruta showcase their craftsmanship, then watch the patterns come to life as artisan Yuichi Hirose demonstrates the dyeing process.
This evening is presented in celebration of our exhibition 'Stenciled Elegance: Ise Katagami and the Art of Textile Design,' on view at #AsiaSocietyTX.
