An Evening of Songs: Lauren Frihauf & Megan Burtt
About this Event
Lauren Frihauf writes from the place where folk meets neo-soul, the kind of songwriting NPR Music has praised for its “gold-record melody.” Denver claims her as its own, a wider audience found her through a cover of “California Dreamin’” that crossed 17 million views, and from there came a run on Season 19 of The Voice and a Top 5 finish in NPR’s 2026 Tiny Desk Contest. What carries across all of it is what her voice leaves behind, soulful and lingering, long after the last note.
Megan Burtt has earned the room the honest way, with folky indie-pop built on groove and craft and a voice reviewers reach for words like smoky and velvety to describe. Her writing is confessional and unguarded, pairing weighty subjects with melodies you want to hum, and it has drawn comparisons to Sharon Van Etten, Norah Jones, and Bonnie Raitt alongside a shelf of honors from the Kerrville NewFolk competition to the Rocky Mountain Folk Festival. Her latest album, Witness, is her most open yet.
For one night they share a single stage and trade songs in turn, the way these songs were first written, close enough to catch the stories between them. This is what Snug Concerts is built for: a room small enough to feel every word, a short walk from the front row to the stage, and a night where every ticket goes straight to the artists who made it.
