Join us Saturday, October 19th at 5:30 pm for An Evening with Marie Timbreza!
Marie Timbreza will read from and sign her newest collection, Sustenance: 50 Poems + One Love Story.
She will be joined by special guests who will read their work during the event.
Marie Timbreza, MAT, is an American writer, educator, and healthcare advocate who has been contributing to creative arts communities in New Orleans, Louisiana; Austin, Texas; and Portland, Oregon, since the late 1990s. She grew up in the Broadmoor neighborhood in NoLa and now lives in Aurora, Colorado, with her partner and two senior dogs. Marie recently participated in the first cohort of the Denver chapter of Community Literature Initiative, which launched a dozen newly published poets into the wild. Her writing includes book reviews, poetry, essays, short stories, and lyrics for several bands. Her inspiration comes from her own love story, parenting journey, and career as advocate and educator. She finds joy in simple things and celebrates laughter, music, equity, travel, public art, and food. Her current projects include launching The Sustenance Poetry Project, which will connect young writers for online workshops, peer editing and support, and self-publishing. Her most recent work is Sustenance: 50 Poems + One Love Story, and she is currently writing Ms. Eileen’s Kitchen, a cookbook and memoir honoring her sweet Southern mama.
This event is free and open to the public. It will be held upstairs at our shop.
If you have a service dog, please let us know ahead of time so we can put away our devious shop cat.
